Horn-Bad Meinberg

Construction of an EDKEA market, Horn-Bad Meinberg

The EDEKA store was newly built near the river Werre outside the flood protection area. In order to secure the supply of the district Bad Meinberg, a new local supply market was built, the existing old stock on the property was demolished for this purpose. The building extends along the western boundary of the site, its location and shape adapting to the course of the site.

There is an independent bakery in the local supply market, which also sells fresh baked goods on Sundays.

Another planning task was the realignment of the customer parking areas. The parking facility was revised and expanded, more parking spaces were created with wider drive aisles and wider parking spaces.

Buildings:
1-story building complex with flat roof without basement, with an all-glass facade construction to accentuate the entrance area with separate empties reception and an enclosed delivery area.

Construction:
The building structure consists of a reinforced concrete skeleton construction with visible prestressed concrete trusses, the exterior façade of plastered aerated concrete panels in a modular system, partially clad with colored HPL facade panels. The entrance facade was accentuated as a color-coated aluminum post-and-beam construction.
